Balanced Pool Myths

Posted by Jacqui Blanton on Dec 2nd 2013

An extremely common mistake in pool care is believing that if your pool water is clear and algae free then it is properly balanced. As much as this might seem like the truth, it is not. Many technicians have stated that they have seen hundreds of pools that look incredibly clear but are all out of adjustment in regards to their ph, alkalinity, stabilizer, and hardness. A pool being out of balance can damage not only your pool, but also your equipment. Unbalanced water can also be extremely uncomfortable for swimmers because it can cause skin and eye irritation. Therefore, it is extremely important to test your water frequently. Most technicians recommend that you test your waters weekly.
