Fire at a Pool Store Forces Evacuations in New York

On March 31, 2014, a huge fire broke out in a pool supply store that forced an evacuation, and a school nearby to postpone dismissal. The pool store, Recreational Pool Supplies, is located in Seaford, Long Island. A total of 12 fire departments were called out and several other stores were destroyed by the fire as well. Firefighters reported that the pool store had not yet received their summer delivery but regardless, air testing was still a concern. Due to concerns of air quality, around 300 children were held in school until the air was deemed safe. The air was under control by 5 p.m. and thankfully no deaths were reported according to this article. Find out more industry related news at
