On June 20, 2014, the country's top water safety organizations join forces to present The World's Largest Swimming Lesson. Organizations include the APSP, Pool Safely, the American Red Cross and many more! The World's Largest Swimming Lesson is meant to "build awareness about the vital importance of teaching children to swim to help prevent drowning," according to their website. On June 20th, pools, waterparks, and aquatic facilities around the world will simultaneously host local WLSL lessons at 11am Eastern Standard Time. They plan to attempt to break the Guinness World Record this year! Swimming is a vital life-saving skill that can help prevent drowning.
